THis post is just some random thoughts off being a Stay ahome Mom, did I mention I just love my new title? Ahem…
Well after I carefully planned out my first day as a SAHM and mostly stuck with my relative schedule things turned out smoothly. I mean it”s not like it’s my first day as a mother! But I can tell you I am loving every single second. All the hugs, cuddles, giggles, silliness, imagination, dancing, running, sweating, its all great, but, oh boy am I tired in the evenings. Those boys have me running like crazy, don’t they know mommy needs to sit down every now and then???
That’s one thing at work, I was busy working, but I was also sitting a lot. So for kicks I wore my pedometer just to see how many steps I was taking, and I am not kidding I took 15,000 steps yesterday. Yes 15,000 which equals 6.3 miles. When I was working it killed me to take 7,000, and that was after exercising. WOW. I have a feeling I might lose some weight on my new job, and that’s not a bad thing.
On Wednesday we had a fun play date with little Bethany and her Mommy (hey Melissa), and the boys promptly tore her house apart, beat on her big screen tv, and just treated everything like it was there own personal play toy. But don’t worry I promised next time will be at my house (that is if she ever wants another play date).
They knew Bethany from daycare, she was a regular drop in, so they we like 3 peas in a pod.
Later that day after my kitchen was a complete mess, and I was rethinking this whole SAHM thing, nah not really, but I did use my 15 minute timer trick.
Check out this mess I was thinking 30 minutes at least
But nope 15 minutes was all it took, and I was happy at home yet again.
At least till I make a mess again, and again, and again.
Congrats again Jenna. I’m glad you had such a great first day. With all you accomplished at your house WITH an out of the house job, I can’t wait to see what happens now. 🙂
This is so true! Make a mess, clean it up, make a mess, clean it up, make a mess, clean it up…
But isn’t it just the best? All this extra time with your boys? And with your dishwasher? 🙂
It’s so true…we always think things will take longer to clean than they actually do…I think that’s why I put things off so much sometimes!
Great job, Mom! 🙂
Awesome job! It sounds like you are really thriving as a SAHM! Good for you:-)
Looks like you’re doing great in your new job!
I was wondering why I stay so thin being at home- I never sit down!!
well good for you, happy first day of the new job! sounds like it was great!!!!! it’s amazing how much i DO.NOT. sit down while i’m at home. except for now. but really, i’m chasing and doing and never sitting. i should try the pedometer thing.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! I laughed at the kitchen sink, then I couldn’t believe my eyes, 15 minutes? Nice!
I’m so glad you’re enjoying your “new job”!! It is a lot of fun, though it does have its tough times but the good times make up for it. Wow, I can’t believe it only took you 15 minutes to clean your sink up!! Mine looks like that at least 3 times a day!!
Love the pics of the boys on their playdate! How cute that one of the boys let the little girl push him in the stroller!
I just realized I forgot to answer your e-mail! A trip to Houston would be a blast…I’m not sure how far it is but if we ever happen to make it there, I’ll bring the kids by for a tractor ride!
Congrats at being able to stay at home with the boys – I don’t blame you for being excited, I would be too!
I was happy to come back to work today after being home with the girls yesterday! I never got to sit down! At work, I get to sit. =)
I’m also glad to know I’m not the only one that puts medicine on their kitchen window ledge! Haha!
