Every year my parents cook a traditional New Years day feast with all the traditional foods for good luck and prosperity. This year’s feast was awesome. And I didn’t cook one thing!! Thanks MOM!
We had rib eye roast with horseradish sauce, sauteed cabbage, black-eyed pea cornbread, rice and gravy.
The cornbread was mixed with black eyed peas, sausage and lots of cheese, super yummy. Great way to get the kiddos (or adults) to eat those peas!
Rice (a must for a family of rice farmers) and gravy from the drippings of the roast.
Cabbage sauteed with bacon and onion. This is my fav way to eat cabbage.
Cabbage courteous of our garden!! Yea!
Rib eye roast cooked to perfection and served with a whipped cream horseradish sauce, sooooooo good!!!!
It’ll make you want to slap your Momma, but don’t she put so much work into it, no really its that amazing.
Once everyone has served themselves and we said the blessing we love to toast!!!
To Health, Wealth and Happiness!!! Happy 2009!!
Ooh, I might have to ask for that cabbage recipe 😉
