As a resolution to healthier eating, DT and I are kicking off 2011 with our sugar and gluten free diet. We did this last year with some awesome results and I am excited to do it again. Giving up sugar (for me) is killer, but doable. I just have to be sure to have a plan and stick with it and be very aware of what I am eating. As the boys are still eating a normal diet, I almost snuck a piece of their biscuit this morning without thinking.
So how about you. Have you made any resolutions for the new year?
This week we have planned:
Breakfasts:
Scrambled eggs and fresh fruit
Oatmeal with fruit
Fruit smoothies
Dinners:
Spicy shrimp over potatoes (recipe to come)
Barbeque chicken with cauliflower (from the garden) and salad
Snacks and desserts:
Blackberry Cobbler (sugar and gluten free)

What a delicious way to start the new year!
Looks like a great plan! I really need to cut back on our white sugar. I’ve experimented with honey a little, but need to be more proactive. I’m posting a couple of gluten free things over the next couple of weeks. I’ll try one with honey to see how it turns out. 🙂
Ugh. No sugar or flour for me starting today. You’re right – having a plan is KEY. I need to hit the store today!
That cobbler looks amazing!!
I need to really make a plan. Our problem here is that one cannot eat soy. So this beautiful bean texas dish is out. Unless she’s at a sleepover or something, lol. So like everything that contains soy is taboo here. One of my other kids is allergic to nuts. lol. It’s fun reading labels at the store.
I did print your cabbage dish recipe and I’m going to make that soon! I am going to try and look up your chicken fajita dish right now!
