Its that time a year again for wild dewberries. My dad picks tons each year and I always make a least a few cobblers to show my gratitude. This year the dewberries are huge as big as your thumb! Plump, ripe, and juicy. Our garden zucchini is growing fast as well, by the end of this week I am sure we will have a few to pick. I was looking at pictures of our summer garden last year and it’s amazing at what a huge difference in the growth of our garden this year. I attribute that to our home grown fertilizer. Otherwise known as chickens!!!
Last week we enjoyed:
Tomatillo Chicken (using canned beans and tomatillo sauce)
This week we have planned:
Breakfasts:
Eggs and Toast
Cereal with fresh berries
Orange Sugar Fried Donuts (Recipe to come)
Dinners:
Pork Sandwiches with spicy slaw (recipe to come)
Barbecue Chicken with sauteed squash, mac and cheese
Zucchini Quesadillas (with zucchini from the garden)

Your husband realizes that he is a lucky man, right?
awesome week — I see the cobbler there…. which made me think about the sugar-free approach you guys were taking for a while — are you still doing that?
Sounds great! I am a fellow Texan, but living in Scotland right now. I felt like I could read your accent- very familiar!!
