I am happy to introduce Mr. and Mrs. Realife to Meet the Newlyweds. Mrs. Realife has a truly wonderful blog called The Reality of Happily Ever After. In which she discusses all the hot topics of marriage; Gender Roles, Sex, To have Children, you know all the good hot topics. She has some mad writing skills, and writes so passionately, whatever the topic might be. (Can I say Jealous? Ugh, one of these days.) Anyways she has a wonderful life with her hubby and has some hilarious posts, and the cutest little weenie dog Ellie. (ps:Mom don’t let Dad see her) So lets Meet them already!!
Wedding date: October 6th, 2007
Blog: The Reality of Happily Ever After
How did you meet? After two years of virtually dating no one, I was really in a place of complete contentment being single — It was June 9th and there was a huge Norfolk Harbor Event “Harbor Fest” — Being new to the area, my friends dragged me out of my apartment to this “Major Event” only to get separated from them — I soon found myself slithering through a small walkway in the midst of 20,000 people trying to find them “by the tree” when I tripped over this man’s foot — I turn to say “I’m sorry” when he reaches his hand out to say “I’m not… I’m Mr. Realife”
When did you know he was the one? We had known each other a mere 2 months and I already felt I knew him better than I’d ever known a b/f — (At 28, I’d dated a few men… ugh) — I had to spend 3 solid days away from him without a cell phone, computer or any other form of communication… That’s when I realized I was in love with him and wanted to marry him —
What is one of your favorite things to do together? We LOVE going to the theater and seeing live productions — We also love to hop on the motorcycle at any given time and ride for hours going nowhere —
What is something new you learned about your spouse after you were married? That having company spend the night stresses Mr. Realife out — I could company over for a week straight and be loving life, all the while he’s biting his nails off and sneaking out for alone time —
What do you do to stay connected during everyday stresses of life? We made a pact with each other to always say “I Love You” when we first wake up, say goodbye, get off the phone, when we get home and before we fall asleep… no matter how upset, angry or frustrated we are with our days or each other… It brings us back to the importance of living our lives with each other —
What is your best piece of marriage advice? Never take your spouses’ moods too seriously, set boundaries early and don’t break them and to always allow your spouse the time they need to have their alone time —
What is your favorite quirk about your husband? I smiled when I read this… he has so many that love, but my favorite is the way he yawns and makes a sound like a baby when he lets it out… Makes me want to kiss and cuddle him {but of course I refrain ;-}
What is something special you do just for your husband? I rub his hands and feet every day — He has a very physically laboring job — He loves it :}
Tell us something about yourself. I’m the youngest of 5 children and have all characteristics of youngest child — Need to be center of attention, love passionately, creative and spunky, optimist and fun — I also stink at domestic chores and hate cooking… I love that my husband loves and accepts me for who I am, never asking me to be something more or different —
Hope you join us for next weeks rendition of Meet the Newlyweds. If you interested in being a featured couple or know of a newlywed blogging couple, please leave me a comment.
