Lets Meet Jay and Abbey. Abbey is such a creative talent, she does amazing photography. I just love her style (wish I could be half as stylish). She also has a fabulous blog and guess what? Yup, she designed it herself as well as for others. But her main blog she writes about how they are traveling and downsizing their stuff, I just love that idea. Now on to the interview.
Wedding date: June 27, 2008

How did you meet? We met in high school when we were 15.
When did you know he was the one? We are turning 25 this year & have been dating since we were 15. We literally grew up together, and we got each other through a lot of hard times. Living 4.5 hours apart through 4 years of college & ending stronger than we started was amazing. I don’t think there was one defining moment, rather moments and years of building up to that.
What is one of your favorite things to do together? We love to travel together, we try to get away alone as often as possible, even if it’s just a few hours from home at a bed and breakfast. Dating is so important after you marry!
What is something new you learned about your husband after you were married? He is very neat, tidy & organized. (I am not 😉
What do you do to stay connected during everyday stresses of life? We usually e-mail each other throughout the day. It’s the best pick-me-up to get a sweet little note when your day is getting long or hasn’t been so great. We also make sure to do something special together each week (movie, out to eat, etc.)
What is your best piece of marriage advice? I’ve learned that I feel closest to my husband when I feel close to God. Spending time strengthening my relationship with Him is so empowering-and when my husband joins me we feel unstoppable. It’s so important to center our relationship on him. God has blessed us with so much that we do not deserve, but we are incredibly grateful. Together, we thrive. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12.
What is your favorite quirk about your husband? He is amazing with children. Children draw to him like a magnet. His personality is contagious. It makes me feel so secure and excited about our future.
What is something special you do just for your husband? I pray for him every day.
Tell us something about yourself.
I’m high-energy, high strung and largely right-brained. I love creating and being creative. I started a photography business a year a half ago and it feeds my creative addiction (that, and blogging). Jay is the opposite-he’s logical, reasonable, and really easy going. I don’t know how he puts up with my crazy personality most of the time! He always listens to my crazy ideas and goes with the flow. He keeps me down to earth. He truly is my greatest blessing. Our life is really ordinary but it’s absolutely perfect for the two of us, and we love it!
