Meet the Newlyweds Dustin and Lindsey

How did you meet? We met through mutual friends our senior year in high school.  My good friend Kelsie was dating Dustin’s good friend Ryan.  We didn’t live in the same town.

When did you know he was the one? I knew he was the one when he told me he loved me for the first time.  We were very good friends for several years before we started dating.  We had been dating for almost 4 months when he told me he loved me.  He just blurted it out one evening and after he said it something just clicked.  I had a connection with him.

What is one of your favorite things to do together? I would say our favorite thing is just spending time together.  It doesn’t matter what we are doing if we are together.  We love watching movies at home or going to dinner.

What is something new you learned about your spouse after you were married? He is very messy.  I am pretty sure I knew this when we were dating but now that we live together, I notice it!  It drives me crazy.  He loves to leave his boots, socks and clothes lying around.  Some make it the laundry basket but the majority doesn’t.

What do you do to stay connected during everyday stresses of life? My husband is a fireman so every third day he has a 24 hour shift.  On the days he is not working we always eat dinner together and usually spend the evening together after I get home from work.  When he is on shift we always talk on the phone at least twice a day.  We never go a day without talking.

What is your best piece of marriage advice? Marriage is hard.  You may think you know a person until you start living together and sharing finances and responsibilities.  My advice is to talk it out.  Talk about your opinions, your feelings, your goals, your plans, etc.  Lay down some ground rules for your marriage.  If you know how each other feel it helps make things a lot easier.

What is your favorite quirk about your husband? He is always making me laugh.  He is very funny by nature and very quick witted.  He can always make me laugh in the most serious of times.  He helps me see the fun in things.

What is something special you do just for your husband? It is nothing extravagant but I usually pick up his favorite candy when I am at the store or if I am out and about and I see something I think he would like I buy it for him.  It is a small gesture but I know he appreciates it!

Tell us something about yourself. I am 25 and happily married as your just read.  My husband and I have two Boxers named Jax & Maribel.  They are our children.  One of my favorite things to do is read.  I also like to blog, go shopping, travel and hang out with my family and friends.
