In our household chicks come and go, lots of them. The boys have had quite the experience with them, you might remember this and this.
But this little chick hatched all by herself, no little chickie bubbas or sissies. So of course she was a little spoiled.
We named her Piper, (I was watching too much Sarah Palin reality TV)
We held her and played with her quite a bit.
Watched TV with her perched on our shoulder.
We even let her cuddle with our blankie.
She is just so cute and blue.
It was lonely back in the brooder all by herself. She would just chirp and chirp. We couldn’t have that.
So we were her surrogate mommies, kisses and all.
She is about 5 weeks old now, and has since had a few playmates added to the mix, Bristol and Eve (hatched on New Years Eve)
So Piper is back to thinking she is a chicken and doesn’t need us so much anymore.
But we’re cool with that.

The name suits her well. Such a cute chick. Too bad they grow up.
So sweet!
How sweet!
Cute pics. I noticed that I said the same thing as Susie. Your boys are getting so big.
How adorable!! 🙂
@Janelle, Funny, I actually like them better when they are grow up! Ha ha.
Thanks for commenting on my post! We were hiking on our land. The old homestead and the tree field is just down the road.
i added a linky on my post (i think) please stop back and add your link! This is my first time adding the linky so i hope that it works!! 😉
We keep chickens too, and have had many very spoiled little peeps.
Fun! Your guys are so gentle with her. My boys can barely be trusted around a puppy let alone something as small as a chicken!
So sweet. I’m so glad I saw this this morning!
