My Aunt always makes the best homemade vanilla ice cream and since the purchase of my ice cream maker I just had to make it!
I love this recipe but it has lots of ingredients.
Start by mixing 4 eggs, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1 1/2 cups sugar, beat well
Then add 1 can of evaporated milk, and 1 can sweetened condensed milk and 16oz or 1 quart of Half and Half, mix well
then add 1 tablespoon of vanilla and 1 pint 16 oz of whipping cream (heavy cream)
Pour mixture into ice cream maker canister
add milk till fill line. My make didn’t have a fill line so I just added 2 cups whole milk
insert beater bar and put lid on
assemble your maker, add ice and rock salt. I also covered with towels to keep the cold in.
My maker stopped after about 30 minutes. And this was the ice cream heaven I saw, of course I had to sample.
I brought the ice cream to a family party, I don’t think anyone liked it. HA!
Here is DT posing for the camera! Yum Yum!!
