The 3rd week of the garden and now everything is growing and sprouting. The garlic has popped through the ground and we had two really good rains which help alot. The weather was still mostly warm with lows maybe in the 60’s highs 80’s. To see previous weeks click here week 1 and week 2.
The acorn squash is doing well and more and more sprouts are coming up each day it seems. Here is a run away seed sprouting in the middle of the lane.
We still haven’t transplanted the Butternut Squash, but it is doing very well in the house.
The cabbage is doing well and the inner leaves are starting to curl in and form the head
The broccoli is growing bigger and taller
The greens don’t seem to be doing very well, maybe they just need more time.
The carrots are doing great!
Both types of spinach are getting bigger and thicker, I am thinking we are going to have tons and tons. But that’s good because spinach freezes well.
See the garlic has sprouted through the ground, yea!
Here is the back side of the garden
Our compost pile! Pretty isn’t it, lol!
I love my compost pile, it makes me feel like I am doing something for the environment, as well as creating rich mulch and soil.

What a wonderful garden! It looks like you’re going to have a bountiful harvest. Where are you that you’d have such beautiful growth this time of year?
Thank you we are really optimistic it will do well this year. I am in south east Texas and we rarely have extreme weather and a winter harvest does very well here.
I can’t wait to plant a garden!
You have a wonderful garden! I use raised beds since my garden area is on a bit of a slope.
