I love decorating and taking pictures during the Christmas season.  What I love even more is that the boys are so into it this year, loving every little detail.  Helping and getting really excited about it all.

So, being in the Christmas spirit, I decided to go ahead and take the boys’ Christmas card photos.  I like doing them myself, though, but they are by no means professional or fancy or anything. I love making them in our home, our boys and tree.

But there is a major downside to doing them yourself.

I took about 100 pics, with most of them being like this.  Gathering the excitement is hard to do in the little fellows.

Either bored, mad or silly seem to be the theme of most.

When the boys had their photos at a professional photographers for school, I’ve never seen them sit up so straight, look where they are told, and take such great photos.  What’s that about?

But at least mine capture the true nature of their being.

Yeah, that’s it!

I’ll let the photos do some talking.

A picture of our tree, and look, Elfie, our Elf on the Shelf.

With all these photos I am still amazed I took any that were Christmas card worthy.

These photos take me back to 2008,  whoa, my babies have grown….

So tell me, how do you make your Christmas cards?

  1. This was my house yesterday! I also took abt 100 pictures, and ended up with 2 that I really liked! I had 3 kids to wrangle, and I attempted to get the dog in on the action, but that was a lost cause 🙂 I was thinking of doing a post of our “out takes” as well!

  2. Love it! That’s how my photo shoots go too. This year I really wanted a pic of my girls in cute hats with snow in the background. Here we are, December 8, in Michigan, and no snow on the ground yet! They’re forecasting some tonight, so hopefully tomorrow will be my lucky day!

  3. Your boys are just adorable! Honestly though, I don’t see how you get everything done that you do! You are truly a supermom!
