I started the cleanse today, eek first time in almost 2 years or longer…. I am super excited to do the cleanse and get back on track with my eating and hopefully weight loss. This go round I tried the peaches and cream fiber drink (or unflavored) and I am happy to say it tastes much better than the citrus. Much better.
I’ve had such great success doing the cleanse in the past I fully believe I will have great success too, but a big part of the success or failure of the cleanse is being prepared. If you get over hungry or tired or stressed out, it’s so easy to grab something quick and unhealthy. So I am going into this fully prepared armed with some super yummy recipes.
With the cleanse you are to avoid sugar, fatty foods and meats, dairy, limited whole wheat breads, and no alcohol.
I tend to limit my bread intake to 1 whole grain serving a day, ie: 1 piece or toast or tortilla. I also personally limit 1 banana a day, and 1-2 servings of fruit a day. I like to think of it like this, lots of veggies, lean meats and whole grains like brown rice, quinoa. Filling whole foods, nothing processed at all. I also drink coffee in the mornings with unsweetened almond milk or black and lots of water. For snacks, I will grab a handful of natural nuts, like almonds or cashews, or an apple with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. There is no starving on this cleanse, just eating really well and clean.
Here are some of the recipes that I love while on the cleanse and not on the cleanse too, they are so yummy.
Here’s what caught my eye this week and what I’m reading.
