I am I am totally that kind of mother that thinks her babies will be little forever, and that with every passing day they aren’t growing or changing and learning.
So when their first day of preschool (prek-3) came, needless to say, I didn’t handle it the best. This is just the first step of them eventually leaving the nest, from under my wings and branching out on their own (don’t you love all those bird euphemisms). I can totally see it, in just a few shorts months they will be graduating from High School and going off to college out of state, and they won’t even text me back.
Ahem, anyway, enough about me.
The boys on the other hand were so very excited!
If you’re a friend on facebook, you may have already seen these pictures.
Look at Little W, a very proud preschooler.
Little H was so excited he could barely stand still to take a picture.
Much less take a decent picture.
I even asked them to turn around so I could get a picture of them with their back packs, but they look more like I am asking them to spread for a police search!
When it was time to go to school, they eagerly walked ahead, they weren’t nervous or shy at all.
It’s like they knew what to do. They went straight to hang up their backpacks.
And sign in with their name cards.
Then I silently snuck out and they never even noticed….. Thank goodness!!
What big boys they are getting to be! How exciting to send them to school. Hope they are enjoying it still!
I can’t believe they are that old already!!!
Your little guys are the cutest boys ever…glad their first day of preschool went so well.
Thanks for sharing Your first day of school. The boys are precious and I love the photos and the play by play.
Being a mom of twinkies (who are now 9), AND a three year old preschool teacher myself ….. i know those feelings you feel, and i also know their excitement. 🙂 I bet they are having a GREAT time!
They’ll still text you in college. My boys both did. They’ll text about sorting laundry, helping proofread papers, what to do with chicken (when in their first apartments), how much socks should cost and a hundred other little things. There’s something about boys and their mamas. I didn’t believe it when they were little, but I do now. Be of good heart. In some ways, they’ll always be your little boys. Even when they’re 6 feet tall. Cheers!
Thanks Michelle, I needed to hear that!
That’s awesome that they went with no problems! I dread the day that it’s time for Grace to go to pre-school (I have a couple of years)! I suffered from really bad separation anxiety as a kid and have a feeling that Grace will be the same way!
By the way, I LOVE their shirts!!! Where did you get them? Grace is on a pirate kick right now and the doggie reminds me of our boston terrier!
I like the police spread shot, that’s funny! My how fast they are growing! What a couple of cuties!
